Privacy Policy
The short version. BT Media is an advertising company. We work with two kinds of data: (1) business contact details of people who want to advertise with us, and (2) pseudonymous device/ad-tech signals (cookies, mobile ad IDs, IP addresses, click identifiers) we receive from publishers and ad exchanges to deliver and measure ad campaigns. We do not knowingly process the personal data of children. We do not sell raw personal data. This page explains the details in full.
01 Who we are
"BT Media", "we", "us" and "our" refer to BT Media Ltd., a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14982310), with its registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom, and operating offices in Singapore and Limassol, Cyprus.
BT Media is the data controller for personal data collected on this website and for the operational data we process about our advertising and publisher partners. For programmatic and bid-stream data processed on behalf of advertisers, BT Media generally acts as a data processor.
02 Scope of this policy
This policy describes how we handle personal data when you:
- visit bt.media or any sub-domain we operate;
- contact us by email, Telegram, WhatsApp or through the form on our site;
- engage with us as a current, prospective, or former advertising partner or publisher;
- view or interact with an advertisement we have placed on a third-party website or app.
03 What we collect
| Category | Examples | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Identity & contact | Name, work email, company, phone / Telegram handle | You, when you submit our form or email us |
| Commercial | Campaign briefs, KPI targets, IO terms, invoicing details | You, during onboarding & operations |
| Site analytics | Pages viewed, referrer, device & browser type, IP-derived approximate location | Automatically, via our analytics |
| Ad-tech signals | Cookies, mobile ad IDs (IDFA / GAID where permitted), IP address, user agent, click & impression IDs, MMP postbacks | Publishers, SSPs and measurement partners during campaign delivery |
| Communications | Emails, messages and call notes between you and our team | You and us, in the course of working together |
We do not knowingly collect special-category data (health, race, religion, biometrics, sexual orientation, political opinion). Do not send us this kind of information.
04 How we use it
- Run our business. Respond to enquiries, negotiate IOs, send invoices, hold weekly account calls.
- Deliver advertising. Plan, buy, serve, frequency-cap, attribute and report on ad campaigns across banner, native, push and interstitial inventory.
- Prevent ad fraud. Filter SDK spoofing, click flooding, device-farm patterns and other invalid traffic before it reaches an advertiser's tracker.
- Measure and improve. Understand which sources, creatives and GEOs perform; tune our optimization engine.
- Comply with law. Meet our tax, accounting, sanctions and anti-money-laundering obligations.
05 Legal bases (UK GDPR / EU GDPR)
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, our legal bases are:
- Contract — to deliver the services you've engaged us for, or to take steps before entering a contract.
- Legitimate interests — for B2B marketing to professional contacts, network security, fraud prevention, and analytics on our own site, balanced against your interests.
- Consent — for non-essential cookies and where consent is otherwise legally required. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable tax, accounting and regulatory rules.
06 Sharing & sub-processors
We share personal data only with the categories of recipients below, and only as much as is necessary for the relevant purpose:
- Publishers, SSPs and ad networks — to source the inventory on which campaigns run.
- Measurement & attribution providers (e.g. Appsflyer, Adjust, Singular, Branch) — to attribute installs and post-install events.
- Fraud-prevention vendors — to score and filter invalid traffic.
- Cloud infrastructure & analytics providers — for hosting, dashboards, CRM and email.
- Professional advisers — auditors, accountants and lawyers, bound by confidentiality.
- Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose, or to protect our rights.
We do not sell raw personal data. A current list of named sub-processors is available on request to privacy@bt.media.
07 International transfers
Because our team and partners operate in the UK, EEA, Singapore, Cyprus and other jurisdictions, your data may be transferred outside the country in which it was collected. Where we transfer personal data outside the UK or EEA to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with appropriate supplementary measures.
08 Retention
- Business contact data — kept for the duration of our relationship plus six years after the last interaction, to meet legal and accounting obligations.
- Campaign and ad-tech logs — kept in identifiable form for up to 13 months from collection, then aggregated or deleted.
- Website analytics — kept for up to 14 months in raw form.
- Marketing list opt-outs — kept indefinitely to honour your unsubscribe.
09 Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@bt.media. We will respond within one month. If you live in the UK or EEA and are unhappy with our response, you can complain to your local supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
10 Cookies & similar technologies
Our website uses a small number of strictly-necessary cookies for session state and language preference, and (subject to your consent where required) analytics cookies that help us understand which sections of the site are actually useful. You can manage cookies through your browser, or refuse non-essential ones via the consent banner. The advertising we run on third-party sites and apps uses cookies, pixels, mobile ad IDs and click identifiers in accordance with the relevant publisher's and advertiser's own privacy practices.
11 Children
Our services are aimed at businesses, not children. We do not knowingly process the personal data of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
12 Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date at the top and, for material changes, give reasonable notice to active partners through their usual account channel.
